Garden House History Night

3/2/2014

Tuesday, January 28th, was "Garden House History" night with a presentation by long time garden club member Lana Finegold. About 20 people were in attendance which included garden club members from other areas, neighbors from the hill and WSFGC President Brynn Tavasci. It was  fascinating to hear the 122 year history of this Beacon Hill landmark and it's evolution over the years, from private residence to the Ladies' Improvement Headquarters to the current headquarters of the Washington State Federation of Garden Clubs. We also learned that the pear trees were probably planted by the first owners of the house making them quite old. It's amazing that they are producing after all these years. The evening concluded with a tour of the house.  Many thanks to all who attended!
